Call for Proposals: The World is Waiting for Your Solutions!


Dear participants:


Thank you for joining U&AI | AI for SDGs Youth Bootcamp!


Since we began in July, we’ve welcomed around 1200 talented youths from over 35 countries. Our last two months together has been an informative and inspiring learning journey and we hope you enjoyed it as much as us!


By now we trust all of you have gained a deeper understanding of AI and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially on issues relating to climate change, AI governance, AI ethics, SDG finance, vulnerable groups and innovation for the SDGs – and if you’ve come up with an exciting idea of how you could help advance the SDGs with responsible AI technology, now is your chance to show it to the world!


We are glad to announce that the period for submitting your proposals is now open!

Here are some tips to help you with your submissions:

Before you submit, please ensure:

  • Your team comprises a maximum of 10 members, including the team leader

  • All team members are under 35 years old

  • There is at least one female team member in your team

  • After the submission deadline, adding or removing members won't be accepted


To submit the best quality proposal possible, we suggest that it includes following information:

  • Topics that your proposal will focus on

  • Background information on your project

  • How the project relates to the SDGs

  • Detailed description of the solution(s) you propose

  • Resources you will need

  • Feasibility and risk analysis 

  • Team introduction

The U&AI Taskforce will evaluate your proposals based on the following indicators:

  • Potential for SDG Impact

  • Level of creativity

  • Strength of feasibility analysis

  • Robustness of risk assessment

  • Teamwork

Please submit your proposal in team and ensure that it is only submitted by the team leader. U&AI Taskforce will contact your team leader as the focal person for further communication.


The deadline for submission is 23:59 on 26th September (GMT+8). Please submit your proposal named as following format:


U&AI 2022_Team Name_Project Name.

When you submit, please kindly convert the file into a PDF. Additional formats are also more than welcome – feel free to choose the format which best displays your brilliant ideas.

You are also welcome to provide illustrations, videos, prototypes and even demos!

Please include an accessible link with the submission. 


If you want to make changes to your submission before the deadline, please feel free to resubmit it. The U&AI Taskforce will use the latest version submitted before the deadline as the final submission.


The submitted works shall conform to relevant laws, regulations and industrial policies, and shall not infringe others’ patent right, copyright, trademark right and other intellectual property right.


Participants shall ensure that their works are real, accurate and complete. The idea, technology and intellectual property rights of their works are reserved by the competition teams themselves.


In addition, please feel free to use the logo of U&AI, but please Do Not use the logo of UNDP and I-AIIG.


Lastly, we are glad to introduce the ‘Ingenuity Cup’ - to promote the development of AI engineering and the construction of industrial ecology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the People's Government of Shenzhen Municipality have taken the lead in organizing a national competition on artificial intelligence for innovation in August-December 2022.
